Access for All Programme
The Access for All programme was launched in 2006 to address the issues faced by disabled passengers and passengers facing mobility restraints when using railway stations in the UK.
The funding is used to create an obstacle free, accessible route from the station entrance to the platform. This includes providing lifts or ramps, as well as supplementary works and refurbishment along the route.
More than 150 stations have been completed and about 68 further projects are at various stages of construction or development.
